Okay, this is a touchy point for most low production vehicles. I mean we’ve all heard the horrifying early Tesla stories.

My personal experience with Karmas was not bad, the reason maybe because I live in the San Francisco/Bay Area, where the Karma certified shop (Pat’s garage) is located. This made my ownership a pleasant one. They are absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable, honest and quite reasonable.

The biggest bill I had to pick was for replacing a bad battery module ($2500). There are I believe 12 of these things in the battery pack. I know it’s a lot of money but I own a Porsche Cayenne and a Jaguar and those aren’t cheap to maintain either. Fiskers are exotic luxury cars and it’s unfair to compare them to Camrys and Hondas.

The other expensive running cost is Tires. Those are about $250-$300/tire and only last for about 10K miles. Still cheaper than Teslas tires btw.

The hard reset which takes about 2 minutes on the Karma seems to solve most of my other problems with the car. I sold my previous Karma at 30xxx miles and didn’t need to pay for anything else besides the module and the regular 12v battery.
